Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Institute, Pune is an initiative from State Government of Maharashtra under its policy objective of promoting Social Justice, essential for building a Welfare State.

The institute aims to increase social equity and to reduce the democratic deficit as envisioned by Dr. Babasaheb Ramji Ambedkar, the Father of Indian Constitution.

The institute undertakes research and training programmes that follow methodologies and tools of policy intervention, leadership development and social inclusion.
